How to Connect With Others

As you start your spiritual journey, it’s crucial to connect with others. However, as you connect, do not blindly accept everything you read on the internet, including this site. Take responsibility for your own research and homework. After all, this is your journey, not someone else’s. Homework involves opening your Bible and reading God’s word. Read His words. Seek His heart. Experience His love. If you don’t have a Bible, you can start online and browse through different Bible translations on www.Bible.com.

This is where you should initiate your own journey. Remember, your life is at stake, so don’t take that journey lightly. Contrary to medical science, the number one cause is not heart disease or cancer, it is death itself. Everyone dies. But what about your soul? What are your plans for eternity?

Connecting With Other Christian Organizations

Connecting with others you can trust is just as important. I suggest exploring the Christian churches in your area. Do not be afraid to ask questions. Then check their answers against God’s word. You may find they are teaching a false religion, or even worse, they are a cult.

The sites I offer below are ones that I have trusted in my own journey. They may help you as well but please do not stop with them. This is your journey. You need to figure out what you believe in, not what I or others believe. As you find other sites, take a moment to review their mission statement or statement of beliefs. Again, check them against God’s word. Make sure you understand where the water is coming from before you start drinking from the fountain. By the way, if you have not seen mine, they are located on the my personal beliefs page.

In closing, let me help prepare you for connecting with others:
May the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace [NUM 6:24-26 ESV].

New Hope Church

This is a no brainer. It happens to be the church that my wife and I attend. We have been blessed over the years with the Biblical insights Pastor Matt and New Hope staff bring to their sermons and daily walk with Jesus Christ. While Ogallala may be a drive for you, the weekly sermons are online and worth listening to each week.

Alpha North America

The Alpha Course may be the best place to start for anyone who has questions about the Christian faith. Alpha began in 1977 at Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB) church in London in 1977. It started as a course to help new church members understand their Christian faith. By 1990, more non-church members were attending those courses then new members. It has now been updated and presented as a course for anyone interested in learning more. As of 2018, over twenty-four million people have gone through The Alpha Course.

The Alpha Course offers a chance to ask questions and explore the Christian faith in a fun, no-pressure environment. The best Alpha group I lead happened to include Lutherans, Catholics, a seeker or two, and one atheist. I learned more from that class then several years of sitting in a church pew listening to never ending sermons.

Andrew Wommack Ministries

Pastor Wommack has been serving God for over 55 years. I first heard him while flicking through TV stations out of boredom and came across one of his teachings. I was hooked ever since. The ministry’s web site is a great place to go for podcasts as well as many other resources. You could spend a year or two on this site alone.

Of course the whole point is not to focus on just one site in your journey. I simply offer you this site for the wealth of free resources it offers. Pastor Wommack’s teaching have been a blessing to me and I am sure they will be to you as well.

Daily Audio Bible

One day Pastor Brian Harding had a word from God, and unlike most of us, actually said yes. He was to read the Bible out loud to the world for one year. Using early podcast technology during 2006, he did just that. He figured he was done, until God told him, again. Brian, bless his heart, did it again. He did not simply replay those podcasts, he reread the Bible from the beginning to the end. He has never stopped. His ministry has become one of connecting people together, no matter where they live.

Per Daily Audio Bible’s Mission Statement:
The Daily Audio Bible is committed to guiding Christian’s worldwide into an intimate and daily friendship with the Bible. This is accomplished by providing the spoken Word of God freely in multiple languages and by the creation and establishment of communities that have no geographical limitations. Our efforts are devoted to exposing the rich texture and heritage of the Bible’s life changing power by educating the Believer on how to engage in and interact with the ancient Scriptures in a future world.

Wild at Heart

John Eldredge ministry helps men find their hearts and their purpose in life. His wife Stasi equally offers guidance for women and their journeys. I personally attended a Wild at Heart conference and to say it was life changing does not even come close. If you get the chance to attend one, GO. You can read more about their ministry on the Wild at Heart website.

Blessings in the name of Jesus Christ,

Rob Nimchuk

Here’s how you test for the genuine Spirit of God. Everyone who confesses openly his faith in Jesus Christ—the Son of God, who came as an actual flesh-and-blood person—comes from God and belongs to God. And everyone who refuses to confess faith in Jesus has nothing in common with God.
