Call out to Him, yes it is really that simple.

If you are wrestling with the question of whether or not you are a sinner, stop wrestling, you know you are. If you disagree, try thinking of sin as missing the mark. After all, that is what the Bible’s definition of sin. The Greek word is ἁμαρτάνω hamartanō and one of its English translations is, to miss the mark (and so not share in the prize) [ESV Concordance]. None of us, including myself, are close to measuring up to God’s plumb line for living a holy life. We all miss the mark, none of us had a chance to even come close.

If you are ready to stop wrestling and need some help reaching out to God, you might consider repeating the following prayer. This, and others like it are based on Romans 10:9-10.

Dear God.
I know I have missed the mark and am a sinner.
I have no one else to turn to other than You for forgiveness.
I am sorry for the pain I have caused you and others.
I believe Jesus died for me and my sins on that cross.
Jesus did what I could not do for myself.
I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life;

I give it to you.
Please take control of my life and help me live for You.

In Your precious name, Amen

If you have accepted Jesus as your personal savior, I encourage you to share that step with others who have accepted Him, and you do know others, for they have been praying for you for some time now. There are also some websites I can offer that may help you as you begin your journey with Jesus. You can find those links under the Connect or Resources tab. They are not unique in any way, but like dear friends they have helped me along the way and I have grown to trust and love them over the years. If you like, you can also drop me a quick note on the Prayer Request page.

The next step in your journey is yours to take.

He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.
